Privacy notice
Last updated 5 October 2026. This notice covers the waiting list on hostsquared.ai, and the analytics cookies you can allow on hostsquared.ai, stay.hostsquared.ai and app.hostsquared.ai. It doesn't otherwise cover the Host² app.
Who we are
Vila Haus, based in Lisbon, Portugal, runs this website, the Host² waiting list and the Host² apps. You can reach us at hello@vila.haus.
What we collect
- Your email address.
- If you choose to tell us, how many places you host.
- Your browser's language setting, so we can write to you in the right language.
- When you joined, and when you last submitted the form.
We don't store your IP address with your sign-up, and we don't use advertising trackers. Analytics cookies are used only if you allow them; see Analytics cookies.
Why we use it
Only to tell you about Host²: when early access opens, what we're building, and how to try it. We use it on the basis of your consent, which you give by joining the list. We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Where it's kept
Sign-ups are stored in Google Firebase (Google Cloud), which processes data for us as our service provider. When you join, we also receive an email with your sign-up details in our own Google Workspace mailbox.
How long we keep it
Until Host² launches and we've invited you, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.
Analytics cookies
When you first visit hostsquared.ai, stay.hostsquared.ai or app.hostsquared.ai, we ask whether you allow analytics cookies. If you decline, nothing is loaded from Google. If you allow them, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and screens are used, so we can improve them.
- What Google receives: the type of page you opened, written as a general pattern such as
/stays/:id, never the booking, place or listing in the address; the website you came from, cut down to its domain; your browser, device and screen size; and an approximate location that Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics doesn't keep the IP address itself. - What it doesn't receive: your name, phone number, email address, booking details or messages. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and nothing is used for advertising.
- Cookies:
_gaand_ga_…, set by Google Analytics for up to 13 months, andvh_analytics_consent, which remembers your choice for 6 months. They are shared across our three sites, so you're asked only once. - Legal basis and retention: your consent. Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted by Google.
- Who processes it: Google Ireland Limited, as our processor. Google may process the data in the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer of this site, in the footer of the guest pages, or in Settings in the host app. Declining stops analytics straight away and deletes the analytics cookies from your browser.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data, or to take you off the list. You can withdraw your analytics consent with Cookie settings. Email hello@vila.haus and we'll do it. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados).
