# Host²

> Host² (said "host squared", also written HostSquared) is pair hosting for short-term and vacation rental hosts: the host times an AI agent that knows the house. Together they deliver five-star stays for every booking, and the host gets their evenings back. The agent runs the three loops of every booking: check-in and check-out, the guest's stay, and the cleaning. The host hears only about what needs them. Host² already works and is scaling adoption slowly with limited seats; hosts can join the waiting list at https://hostsquared.ai/#join.

Host² is created by Vila Haus (https://vila.haus/), an AI company based in Lisbon, Portugal. The team has decades of experience in machine learning and AI and owns several short-term rentals. They built Host² because onboarding guests and coordinating cleaning did not fit their lives with kids.

## Pair hosting

You × Agent = Host². The host brings care, judgement and the last word. The agent brings every hour, every answer and every clean on time. Together: answers in seconds, a house ready on time, the same standard every stay, and the host's life back.

## Who it is for

Hosts who rent one or more houses on booking platforms and run them by hand, often alongside a job and a family. The host is the customer; guests and cleaners use Host² for free.

## The three loops

- Check-in and check-out: adding a guest's phone sends a welcome SMS with their dates and a private link. Guests sign in with the phone number on the booking and a one-time code; no password, account or app install. Lux answers arrival and departure questions (for example "how do we get in?") from the host's guide, at any hour. Coming next, not available yet: sending arrival details when the house is actually ready, a check-out reminder, and a guest "We've left" that tells the cleaner the house is free.
- The stay: Lux, the AI agent, answers guests in their private booking space, grounded in documents the host uploads for that house (PDF, Word, text, Markdown or HTML). Answers show their sources. For local or date-specific questions Lux adds Google Maps and live web results. When the documents do not cover a house question, Lux says so and the host replies in the same thread. Each booking gets a stay plan with ideas, events and a day-by-day agenda. Learning from host replies is in development, not available yet.
- The cleaning: every booking becomes a clean on the cleaner's schedule. Cleaners get an 08:00 SMS with the day's departures, arrivals and party sizes, see the time left to clean, and tap "House ready" (undoable). The host gets a text when cleaning starts and finishes.

## What makes it different

- One routine for every booking, whichever platform it came from: reservations come from the calendar (iCal) links hosts already have, read-only.
- Knows the whole house (guides, manuals, local tips), not just a listing description.
- Live local answers from Google Maps and the web, for the guest's dates.
- Guests and cleaners connected through the same agent.
- Nothing to install for guests or cleaners.
- The host sees every conversation and stays in charge.

## Facts

- Status: working, with adoption scaling from a waiting list. Host² is rolling out slowly, with limited seats, first come, first served, from the waiting list at https://hostsquared.ai/#join.
- Price: €2 per completed stay in low season and €3 in the area's high season, before VAT. Everything included; nothing charged in empty months or for cancellations; the first five stays are free; billed monthly. Early adopters keep €2 for every booking for two years. In short: you only pay when a guest has stayed.
- Host² never changes bookings on booking platforms; it only reads reservations.
- Host² does not register guests with the authorities, check IDs or collect tourist tax.
- Guests only see their own reservation. Documents stay private to each house.
- 13 interface languages; texts go out in each recipient's language.
- Product screens and conversations on the website use synthetic data; photos are AI-generated illustrations; artwork is AI-generated illustration with animated light effects.
